Cathy Hontz

Cathy started her career in property management in 1998 at Cape Landing in Myrtle Beach, then went on to complete a lease up in Raleigh. Cathy came back to the lowcountry to work for The Beach Company at Long Grove Apartments for 3 years. Her years in property management were great for her career development, and she was the recipient of Leasing Consultant of the year in 2002 for the Charleston Apartment Association. In 2003, she was hired as an Account Executive for the Charleston Apartment Guide. Since then, the company was renamed Rentpath, and she has loved working with them through all their amazing transformations! She’s held numerous positions at RentPath and is thrilled to have recently won President’s Club! Her focus has been to create tailor-made solutions for her clients ranging from print ads (2000’s) to current sophisticated strategies that include ILS, Google search, social media, geofencing and reputation management, to name a few. She was elected to the Board of Directors for the CAA in 2003 and 2004, and was awarded Member of the Year for both of those years. She also served on CAA’s Board of Directors during the 2008-2009, 2012-2013, 2016-2017, and 2018-2019 terms. Most recently, she has served on the Board of Directors for the Coastal Georgia Apartment Association based in Savannah. She was awarded the Charleston Regional Business Journal’s spot on their 40 under Forty list in 2009 and was the recipient of The Prestigious Pineapple award in 2015 (CAA advocate award). She was excited to have the honor of receiving the 2016 CAA Vendor of the Year Award. Cathy has a daughter Lauren, who is 16 and will be driving solo shortly (wish her lots of luck, please!). She is thrilled to have been nominated for Secretary of the CAA Board of Directors and is looking forward to an opportunity to use her years of experience to diligently (and enthusiastically, if you’ve ever met her) serve you once again!
