Session 1 (11:00 - 1:00):  Domestic Violence Awareness with Michael Harrington
Mr. Harrington will bring you up to speed on the laws in your state that relate to tenants who are DV victims;  Fair Housing Act implications for common DV situations; and how the provisions of your lease may also impact your ability to file and/or evict a tenant in a DV situation.  

This 2 hour class is worth 2 CECs.

Session 2 (1:00 - 2:00):  Tri-County Human Trafficking Task Force’s HT 101 with Ivy DeAngelis, Program Director at the Formation Project
With her extensive background and Masters in Social Work, Ivy has developed a keen ability to navigate complex challenges in the nonprofit world, particularly those related to sexual violence support and intervention. Her role in a national organization involved not only enhancing program effectiveness but also fostering partnerships and advocating for systemic changes to better address client needs. Ivy's expertise in both direct service and operational management has equipped her with a unique perspective on how to drive impactful change and optimize organizational performance in the sector.

Training description: 
The Tri-County Human Trafficking Task Force’s HT 101 training is designed to provide a basic, yet comprehensive understanding of human trafficking. This training will cover the definitions of human trafficking, including the various forms it can take and how to differentiate it from other crimes. It will address common stereotypes and misconceptions that hinder effective identification. Participants will learn to recognize key indicators of trafficking situations through practical scenarios. The training will also take a look at the complex reasons why victims may not self-identify or seek help. Finally, it will look at available resources and procedures for reporting suspected trafficking cases, ensuring each participant is equipped to report and knowledgeable of resource in their area.
